Perry senior Claire Marburger made it official Wednesday in front of a large crowd inside the Brady Library at Perry High School. The All State forward put on the brown and yellow and signed her letter of intent to play basketball next fall at Valparaiso.
“At first, the recruiting trail was a lot of fun. It’s nice to have so many coaches looking at you and watching your game. It is also very stressful sorting out the mail and making the decision. It was a good feeling when I finally made the decision.”
Marburger had a number of choices but in the end felt very comfortable with Valparaiso.
“The moment I stepped on the campus, I just knew this was the place I wanted to play. I loved the coaches and the players and really felt at home. I can’t wait to get started. They play some really good teams and I plan to join them this year when they travel to Louisville. Last year they played Notre Dame and Illinois.”
Marburger and the rest of the Jayettes began practice Monday as they get set for their season opener Monday, November 24th with Newton.
