All Greene County youth from kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to a Meet The Rams night at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson later this week.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says kids will have the opportunity to practice with the Greene County High School girls basketball team tomorrow from 6-7:30pm.

She comments that this program will show younger basketball players about leadership and skill levels of a high school program.  Lautner explains the importance of how this event can help younger players grow.

“The girls will get to interact with the Ram high school basketball team which I think is really important for younger girls to see older girls playing basketball and enjoying themselves and also the high school girls to kind of set some standard for these younger girls.”

Each participant is encouraged to bring a white t-shirt for the high school team to sign following the program.

It is a free event, but parents are asked to sign a waiver for their child to practice with the team.  Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.  Call the rec center at 386-3412 to sign up.
