The ADM Football Tigers finished the 2014 campaign 5-5, and made the playoffs for the seventh consecutive season. ADM started the season slowly, particularly on offense.

The Tigers were 2-3 through five weeks and hadn’t scored more than 17 points before the offense started clicking the following week against Creston.

ADM head coach Mike Whisner said the slow start was in large part due to a lack of experience on his roster. The Tigers, however, are losing just 14 seniors, eight of whom started. That means ADM this season played a number of underclassmen who gained valuable experience this season that Whisner said will pay big dividends next year.

“I mean, there’s no question: we had several juniors and several sophomores that got some playing time —  sophomores primarily on special teams — but that’s  so valuable going into next year,” Whisner said. “And we were looking at the rosters of the teams for next year that we’re playing in the district, and they have the same scenario. I mean, a couple of them were pretty senior-laden, but they had a lot of underclassmen playing.

“It’s going to be another battle, and we think we’ll be right in there from the start with the experience we have coming back.”
