Here is the preliminary election results for Greene County on the Raccoon Valley Radio network.
Of the seven precincts reporting, there were 3,703 ballots cast of the 6,806 registered voters for a 54.41% voter turnout.
There were three contested county races for two County Supervisor and County Treasurer. For Supervisor District #2, Greene County voters elected Republican incumbent Dawn Rudolph to serve her second term as Supervisor with 1,767 votes to Democrat challenger Kevin Fitzpatrick Sr. with 1,066 votes and Independent Shane Olson with 750 votes.
District #3 Supervisor it was Republican incumbent Tom Contner defeating Democrat challenger Randy Monthei with 2,092 to 1,393 votes. As for County Treasurer, it appears that Democrat incumbent Donna Lawson who has served as treasurer for 29 years, will served another term defeating Republican challenger Kristi Holz 2,368 votes to 1,229 votes.
The other two county offices on the ballot were for County Recorder and Attorney. Democrat incumbent Marcia Tasler looks to serve another term as recorder as she ran unopposed and received 2,834 votes of the 2,857 total votes. Republican incumbent for County Attorney Nicola Martino also ran unopposed and received 2,333 of the 2,435 votes.
As for Iowa House District 47 Representative seat, Greene County voters chose Republican incumbent Chip Baltimore to serve his third term in the Iowa House defeating Democrat challenger Hans Erickson with 2,326 votes to 1,102 votes.
Republicans Terry Branstad and Kim Reynolds were re-elected as Governor and Lieutenant Governor respectively by the majority of Greene County voters with 2,292 votes defeating Democrat challengers Jack Hatch and Monica Vernon with 1,166 votes.
Other state offices that Greene County voters selected were Paul Pate for Secretary of State, Mary Mosiman for Auditor of the State, Michael Fitzgerald for State Treasurer, Tom Miller for Attorney General and Bill Northey for Secretary of Agriculture.
In the national races, Republican incumbent Steve King was re-elected with 2,108 votes defeating Democrat challenger Jim Mowrer with 1,485 votes for U.S. House District 4 and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Joni Ernst was elected by Greene County voters over Democrat candidate Bruce Braley 2,063 to 1,367 votes.
