The polls will be open until 9pm tonight throughout Iowa as we decide who will represent us at the local, state and national levels.
There are very few local contested races in Dallas County. Residents in the northwest portion of the county will choose between incumbent Republican Clel Baudler and Democrat challenger Steve Roe for State House District 20.
All County office races are uncontested with incumbent Republican Chad Airhart seeking another term as Recorder, incumbent Democrat County Attorney Wayne Reisetter looking for reelection, Republican newcomber Mitch Hambleton hoping to become the new Treasurer as Darrell Bauman retires, and current Republican Supervisors Kim Chapman and Brad Golightly are also seeking another term with no challengers on the ballot.
There are contested races for the Secretary of State, State Auditor, Secretary of Agriculture, and State Treasurer races. And of course the hotly contested races for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the 3rd District in the U.S. House of Representatives and an open seat in the U.S. Senate.
