A deputy transported a stray black Labrador dog from Scranton to the animal shelter in Jefferson.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office assisted with a trash cleanup at 600 Dudley Street in Churdan.

A deputy was asked by the Union Pacific Railroad to try and locate a hunter trespassing along the railroad tracks on I Avenue. No hunter or vehicle was located upon his arrival.

A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident that was reported on Highway 25 near 340th Street. A 1998 Chevy Lumina that was being driven by Shelly Kay Strahl 52, of Glidden was northbound on Highway 25 when a deer ran onto the roadway and struck the Strahl vehicle breaking the front windshield and other severe damage to the front of the car.  Shelly Strahl was not injured but her car was estimated to be a total loss.

A deputy was not able to locate a reported deer lying along the roadway near P Avenue on 235th Street.

A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near the Boone and Greene County line. A 2013 Nissan Sentra that was being driven by Ashley Lynn Sippel 22, of Ames, Iowa, was westbound on 220th Street when a deer crossed the roadway and her car struck the deer. Ashley Sippel was not injured but her vehicle sustained an estimated $4000 in damages. The car was towed from the scene.

A deputy was dispatched to Grand Junction to try and locate a female that had reported a domestic altercation with her boyfriend. Neither party was located at that time.

Saturday, November 1st

A deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction to help mediate a verbal altercation between family members.

A deputy was asked to be in Churdan while a female was removing her possessions from a residence in the 1100 block of Livingston Street.

A deputy investigated the report of animal cruelty to a dog in the 700 block of Main Street in Scranton.

A deputy spoke with a resident in the 400 block of State Street in Scranton concerning the safety of a relative.

A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of Dudley Street in Churdan to investigate the report of harassment by phone from a Michigan resident.

A deputy was asked to check a garage in the 500 block of 11th Street South in Grand Junction where 4 youth were reported to have entered the building through a window. It was determined that the four had permission to be in the building but were unable to unlock the front door.

A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident on 170th Street and Q Avenue. A 2004 Chevy Malibu that was being driven by Jaclyn Louise Baldwin 21, of Paton was eastbound on 170th Street when her vehicle was struck by a deer that ran onto the roadway. Baldwin was not injured and her car sustained less than $1000 in damages.

A deputy advised a resident in the 100 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction to contact the animal shelter in Jefferson about the kitten that she found in her driveway.

A deputy assisted the Grand Junction Fire and Rescue with a medical call in the 400 block of 16th Street North in Grand Junction.

Sunday, November 2nd

A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of M Avenue to check a reported large fire.  It was determined that the fire was a controlled burn of a brush pile and then spread to an old building and farm field. Fire units from Churdan and Farnhamvile were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames. Charges are pending for Reckless Use of Fire for the youth that started the fire.

A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident that occurred on Highway 144 south of Rippey. A 2015 Chrysler 200 that was being driven by Lacey Kay Heater 25, of Des Moines, Iowa, was southbound on Highway 144 when a deer ran onto the roadway and struck the right front bumper of the car. Lacey Heater was not injured and her car sustained an estimated $1000 in damages.

A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of State Street in Scranton to investigate the report of a window peeking involving several different homes.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
