Greene County residents are reminded that tonight is the annual Trick-Or-Treat Around-the-Square event.
Parents and kids can kick off the evening by going to the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson. Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says they will have 15 Halloween-themed games and stations set up along with free pumpkins for people to decorate and take home. Plus there will be free treats and candy for those that stop by. Pre-registration is at 3:45pm and the free come-and-go event is from 4-5pm.
Then everyone is invited to the downtown square for Trick-Or-Treat Around-the-Square from 5-6pm. Greene County Chamber Director Chris Henning says there will be 22 participating area businesses that people can check out and receive even more candy for free.
Finally, the public can head to the Jefferson Public Library for more Halloween fun from 5-7pm. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says they will have different drawings for prizes as well as coloring stations and other games for people to play. The main activity will be a skit based off the book, “That’s Not a Good idea!” by Mo Willems in the basement of the library.
