Greene County Medical Center hosts a special events thanks to grant funding.

Students with the Greene County High School Intro to Child Development class and the medical center’s public health department’s Healthy Opportunities for Parents to Experience Success (H.O.P.E.S.) program recently participated in a “baby shower” with care packages for newborns and their parents.

It was held during the “Baby Boutique” which is a prenatal incentive program offered through the public health department.  The event was made possible through a grant by the Communities 4 Children Decategorization Project and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children Neighborhood/Community Network mini grant.

The medical center’s H.O.P.E.S. received $1,900 in grant money to put on activities like a baby shower.  It’s not only a learning experience for the students but its also designed for the public health department to assist expectant parents in crucial parenting skills.
