City employees in Perry will be spending part of their day together for the second annual Safety and Employee Appreciation Day.

Workers from all departments within the City will gather today from 10:30-1:30 to celebrate another year and learn some valuable skills.

City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says last year’s program went over really well and it’s nice to have everyone come together.

Tyson Fresh Meats has donated food for lunch, which will be prepared by Hy-Vee.

Attendees will also learn about things like ALICE training so they’re prepared in an emergency and be instructed on how to use a fire extinguisher.
