Monday night’s Class 3A Region 4 quarterfinal volleyball loss in Nevada not only ended Greene County’s season, but it closed out the Greene County careers of 11 seniors. They include Hannah Onken, Marissa Promes, Annie Palmer, Stacy Mears, Kayla Mobley, Mollie Sorber, Emma Saddoris, Kayla Youngblood, Nicole Kuhl, Bailey Godwin, and Tressa Rasmussen. Coach Donna Carhill has coached high school volleyball since the 1980’s and she said she doesn’t remember more girls in the senior class on any other team she’s coached. The coach added not only has the coaching staff worked with these girls for their high school years, but counting camps and off-season programs, for some it’s been five and six years.

Sophomore Nadia Fisher was a regular in the rotation this season and she led the team in kills. Fisher was the only non-senior to see appreciative playing time on the varsity level.

Greene County finished the season at 13-18 and they dropped their last six games.
