Today is Rail Safety Day, and Flint Hill Resources in Menlo is holding a special presentation on being safe around trains featuring Operation Lifesaver. Francis Edeker is State Coordinator for Operation Lifesaver Iowa and says trains prove to be dangerous much more often than people think, “About every three hours a person or vehicle is hit by a train nationwide, in Iowa it’s about once a week. We’re trying to teach people how to be safe around trains, and not be a statistic.”
