Over 5 years after her mentally ill son tragically gunned down a high school football coach inside Northwest Iowa’s Aplington Parkersburg High School, Jean Becker is coming to Stuart next month to lead a discussion about mental illness in young people. Stuart Library Director Sandy Pollard says the talk will center around things very important to the Becker family, “She feels so strongly about getting this message out about mental illness in young people, and where to go for help. One of the other things she talks about is community reconciliation after a tragedy.”

The event is scheduled to take place November 9th at 7pm inside of West Central Valley High School.
