greene county medical centerGreene County Medical Center invites everyone to their open house at their Long Term Care Unit tomorrow.

The activity room has recently been remodeled and so the staff is excited to show their new space as well as let the public know about other exciting things that are happening at Long Term Care.

Earlier this month at the Board of Trustees meeting, chief nurse executive Kaite Heldt reported more positive news about Long Term Care from a recent survey that was conducted by Symbria which is a company that does Long Term Care surveys across the country.

41 of 46 residents were surveyed at the medical center and 19 family surveys were returned of the 44 that were mailed out.

Some of the results showed 91.2% were satisfied with care and services provided at Long Term Care.  Some of the strengths were a homelike atmosphere, dining services, housekeeping and having an activity room.  Some of the opportunities for Long Term Care to improve the response times for call light requests, missing items from laundry and engagement of staff with residents while performing care.  Heldt notes that they are putting together an action plan to help improve the staff’s engagement with residents in Long Term Care.

The medical center had an overall score of 71% which is well above the national average of 40% by Symbria.

The open house is from 5-7pm at the newly renovated activity room on Wednesday, October 1st.
