Hundreds of people saw “Aaron 64” painted on the home sideline at Linduska Field on Thursday during funeral services for 20-year old Aaron Beaman of Jefferson, who died in a vehicular accident last weekend in Boone County. More will see the reminder of the former all-district football player for the Greene County Rams when Coach Dean Lansman’s team hosts Creston/Orient-Macksburg tonight in non-district action. Game time is 7:30 p.m. with coverage on KG98 beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The 2013 high school graduate was a team captain in 2012 en route to earning all-district recognition as a defensive tackle. He also was a state tournament qualifier in wrestling.
Coach Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio that Beaman had a tremendous senior year and had become a leader in both sports. “Tonight, I think the kids are going to go out and be inspired because of him, and try to get a win for him.”
C/O-M is 2-1 overall while the Rams are 1-2.
