The ADM Tiger fell by one point last Friday to the Dallas-Center Grimes Mustangs, but not to be overlooked was a tremendous individual performance by senior wide receiver Jake Sloss.
Sloss caught 6 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown, which proved to be the tigers’ only score of the day. So where does that game rank all-time in Sloss’ football career?
“It’s got to be at the top,” he said. “I haven’t a game like that since — I don’t know when.”
Sloss leads ADM (1-2) with 12 catches and 281 receiving yards, and has caught both of junior quarterback Frank Weiland’s touchdowns passes. Sloss’ contributions don’t stop there, however, as he’s also made 16 tackles from the strong safety position. It’s on defense where he plays alongside his twin brother Joe, who mans the free safety position.
Jake said it’s cool that he’s able to finish his high school football career by playing next to his brother half of the time he’s on the field. The two feed off each other during practices and games.
“If one of us is playing good, chances are the other is,” he said. “But if not, the other one lifts him up.”
