The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday.

The Board approved its updated comprehensive solid waste management plan of its hierarchy system to the Central Iowa Waste Management Association and paying $3,000 to Region XII Council of Government’s Iowa Housing Trust Fund for their 2015 Housing Trust Fund Grant application so that each participating county can receive its appropriate amount of funding for housing projects for low-income families.

The Board also approved reappointing Sandra Miner to the Region XII Council of Governments regional housing authority executive board of commissioners that’s effective from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015 and the Sheriff’s quarterly report of fees for April, May and June of $60,953.97.

During the open forum, attorney David Morain thanked the Supervisors for their help in updating the judge’s chambers with new carpet and then took the Supervisors on a tour of the different judge’s chambers and the courtroom to discuss updating the curtains and drapes.  Greene County Conservation Director Dan Towers talked about Senator Harkin trying to pass legislation to establish wildlife areas in Iowa with diverted funds from the federal government level.
