The Greene County High School FFA chapter recently received a grant from Alliant Energy.
Advisor Cortney Schmidt says they applied for and were awarded a $1,400 grant by Alliant Energy for its aquaculture lab at the high school. In March, the student organization received a $2,500 grant from Monsanto’s “America’s Farmers Grow Communities” program.
Schmidt points out that they had some new pumps installed on their aquaculture lab and they will use the Alliant Energy funds to replace some leaky pipes.
She states that she’s ecstatic that Greene County FFA received another grant. This money will help improve their facilities which will provide better learning environments for all agriculture students in their district.
