Dallas County residents are invited to participate in a new event this fall that aims to promote a sense a unity through reading.
Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy says after the 12 libraries in Dallas County collaborated together to host a successful Toddler Fest this spring, they wanted to come up with another idea to promote literacy. She says this helps create synergy between the different communities and also brings a best selling author to the area.
The inaugural event’s book selection is Ordinary Grace by William Kent Kruger which is a fiction novel combining murder, mystery and intriguing characters.
Everyone’s invited to pick up a copy of the book at their local library and read it before the author reception at the Hotel Pattee on Tuesday, October 7th and public book discussion later that night.
