The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn volleyball team finished with three wins and zero losses at the Newton tournament on Tuesday night.
The Tigers beat the Bluejays of Bondurant-Farrar 25-19 and 25-20, they then went on to defeat Gilbert 25-22 and 25-20 and completed the undefeated night against Pella in a tough three-game match with scores of 24-26, 30-28 and 15-7.
Head coach Mary Beth Scott says her players seemed like they had a sluggish, up-and-down type of night where nothing seemed to be consistent. She was happy that her team was able to essentially go through the motions and still pick up victories, but she wants to see them be more consistent all the way around.
During the first two games against Pella, Scott comments that it was a back-and-forth match with neither team getting more than a two-point lead. But then in the third game, Scott notes that senior Maddie Mikkelsen found her rhythm serving and got them out to a 9-1 lead and thought that either Pella had to play perfect or her team would have to fall apart for them to lose the match. Luckily she says her team kept their composure and got the win.
ADM improves their match record to 6-2 on the season and their next set of matches will be at home tomorrow in another tournament.
