Now that we’re in the month of September, that means there are only five Greene County Farmer’s Markets left.
Greene County Chamber Director Chris Henning invites everyone to stop by each of the last few farmer’s markets on the east side of the courthouse on the downtown square in Jefferson from 4-6:30pm on Tuesdays.
She says anyone who has locally grown produce that they want to sell at the farmer’s market, must notify the Chamber and pay a $20 vendor fee. Henning also talks about having a couple of slots open this month for those organizations who want to serve a fundraiser meal.
“It’s a $20 fee, a vendor fee just like any other vendor, and then they need the food license and I think that’s $32, an easy enough piece of paper to fill out and they’re all set.”
She adds that this year’s farmer’s market has been much better in terms of the variety of produce due to a much better growing season.
