Football teams that are members of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference open their 2014 schedules on Saturday, Sept. 6. Among the hundreds of IIAC players on the eight teams making up the conference are four from Greene County.
Three of the four are on the roster of the Buena Vista University Beavers. They are listed on the BVU website as sophomore Daniel Rohner, a 6′ 3″, 230 lbs. defensive end, sophomore Tory Beger, a 5′ 11″, 190 lbs. quarterback, and TJ Lint, a 6′ 205″ freshman wide receiver. Rohner is a 2013 Greene County High School graduate, who played his first three seasons for JSPC (Jefferson). Beger transferred from Iowa Central Community College (Ft. Dodge). He earned all-state honors for the Rams last fall as a receiver. BVU opens the season on Sept. 6 in Storm Lake at 1 p.m. vs. Wisconsin-Platteville.
