A relatively new group of community members, event planners, business leaders and involved citizens will meet again for the first time in a couple months tomorrow in Perry.
The first item on the agenda for tomorrow’s Cultural district meeting is discussion on what might be a more appropriate name to call the group.
Co-founder Bob Wilson says the goal of the group remains the same but there’s some new leadership in place.
“We’re sick and tired of one group planning something and then another group planning something that could work so perfectly together. So we just wanted all entities to come together at the table once a month. I’m announce that Pat Snyder, the publisher of The Perry Chief, will sit as the chairperson on this. She is an awesome motivator, highly organized, she’s going to be exactly what the group needs” says Wilson.
And whether you’ve attended a meeting before or not, Wilson invites everyone to participate.
“What we want is everyone involved, whether it’s a civic organization, a private business, a retail business, the Carnegie Library… if you want to get involved with more of the programming, the promotions, anything like that. Maybe you have a good idea, something that you’ve been doing for a while, thinking maybe we need to piggyback that with another event, this is your time.”
The meeting takes place tomorrow at 7:30am at Perry Perk. For more information call 465-4601.
