The last few things needed to fully complete the McCreary Community Building parking lot are hopefully being wrapped up this week.
City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says they noticed some things that needed to be fixed before the project is fully completed, including replacing cracked sidewalk panels which was being worked on this week.
And Niebuhr says the project went so well, engineers Bolton and Menk are hoping to submit it for an award.
“It was a good job, concrete cracks and that happens every now and then, we just don’t like to see it this early in the project. That doesn’t make any difference in the project and the workmanship of the project. They did a good job, Jensen Construction, and with the bioswales there’s just a lot of good things with the project and everybody likes it. I think once it gets fully completed it’s going to be easier to clear snow, easier to park, it holds more cars and heavier traffic so we’re anxious for that to be done” says Niebuhr.
The total cost for the project was almost $367,000.
