The Greene County High School volleyball team is in the middle of Iowa’s five-class system, which suits head coach Donna Carhill just fine. But late in the season she annually takes the Rams to the Class 5A Johnston Tournament to face much bigger schools. The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio she likes the girls to see big school competition just before the Rams enter the postseason. “I like the girls to go against that kind of competition just before we enter our regionals so they can see firsthand some really good teams, and also to help us realize what we could do better.”
The Rams open the 2014 volleyball season in Jefferson on Tuesday, Sept. 9 vs. Heart of Iowa Activities Conference opponent CMB (Maxwell).
