Classes in the Perry and Adel School Districts start Wednesday and now is the time to refresh our minds on safety measures that can be taken once students head back to class.
Perry Police Department School Resource Officer Pat Jans one of the most important tips he has is eliminate distractions.
“On top of the traffic laws that are already on the books, just remember that distracted driving leads to a lot of problems. Whether it be a radio, or a cell phone, or a child in the back seat that’s crying. When you’re distracted from what’s going on in the roadway in front of you, then you run into some problems. You may be following too close and someone hits their brakes in front of you. A lot of things happen because of distracted driving so stay focused at the task at hand and safely maneuvering your vehicle on public roadways.
We’ll have more back-to-school safety tips with officer Jans on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on AM 1310 KDLS.
