Reece Satre, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn’s new activities director for 7th-12th grades, is excited to get his first full year as AD underway with the fall season.
He talks about his thoughts on the upcoming fall sports seasons for football, volleyball and cross country and he looks forward to helping to continue strong traditions at ADM High School.
“As the new AD, I’m just kind of really interested to see how the whole fall sports season works. I’ve got some ideas and things I would like to see happen, little tweaks and changes here and there, but its also kind of how can I fit it in with the community and what we already have going because we’ve got great facilities and great settings out here and I’m really interested to kind of see how it all works together.”
The first football home game for the Tigers is on Friday, August 29th against the Perry Bluejays in a non-district game. Satre points out that both the Perry and Adel Lions Clubs are working together to raise funds for their respective organizations with a “Battle for the Hunger Rock” community traveling trophy of a rock from the Raccoon River, which he says he totally supports the idea and is looking forward to continuing that aspect.
He also points out that the first home volleyball matches is the Tiger Invitational tournament on Thursday, September 4th at 4pm and the home cross country meet at Hillcreast Country Club is on Monday, September 22nd.
Satre comments about his other big goal to start off the school year with.
“Just haven’t had a chance to interact with kids yet and that’s one of the things that’s really exciting about the job is you get to see kids go out and be excited about being involved in their activity so that is the biggest thing that I’m looking forward to.”
Satre began as ADM’s new AD on August 1st.
