Since the groundbreaking was held on July 10th for Wild Rose Jefferson, construction has been ongoing at the site of the $40-million facility on the northwest corner of US Highway 30 and Iowa Highway 4.
McAninch Corporation of Des Moines has been doing the groundwork of preparing the site and Wild Rose’s chief operating officer and president Tom Timmons explains the next steps in the construction process.
“The next phase will be going into pouring concrete and getting the footings ready. And then hopefully towards the end of August or right there the first part of September our steel starts to arrive and we can start going up with the walls.”
Timmons anticipates having the structure enclosed by the winter season so that crews can continue to work on the interior during the cold months. He points out that Edge Companies of Grimes is the general contractor and the foundation construction will be by Jensen Construction Company of Des Moines and Mid-States Steel Corporation of Boone will provided the structural steel for the facility.
He’s been pleased with how the weather has worked out to begin construction and believes the 40-acre facility will be open by August of 2015.
