Each year people from across the county flock to Adel in early August to celebrate one of the things Iowa is most well-known for… sweet corn.
But in order for thousands to enjoy the free treat it has to be prepared and as usual, the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to come help.
“We have seven and a half tons of corn that come in and they all need to be shucked and ready to cook on Saturday. So from 5:30-8pm everyone is welcome to come to downtown Adel at 10th and Prairie Streets. We’ll have music, drinks, water and it’s just a really fun time to have people coming together from the community” says Chamber director Karina Ward.
The 35th annual Adel Sweet Corn Festival takes place Saturday in downtown Adel with events scheduled all day.
