The three-day Greene County football camp for players going into grades 3-12 begins at 5 p.m. at the high school in Jefferson. Head Coach Dean Lansman told Raccoon Valley Radio that players in grades 7-12 will have camp from 5-8 p.m. while those in grades 3-6 will have camp from 6:30-8 p.m.

Coach Lansman is hoping to instill the love of the game into the younger players and has some fun activities planned for them. For the older players, the coach said he wants camp to be like a practice and he’s hoping the install some of the offenses and defenses the Rams will be using this season.

T-shirt and shorts will be worn during the camp with no contact taking place. Official practice for high schools in Iowa starts on Monday, August 11, but even then, contact is introduced slowly with full pads and full contact not allowed until Monday, August 18.
