A deputy investigated a complaint of a party in the 2400 block of 180th. There was nothing found at the residence.
A deputy assisted personnel from the Greene County Emergency Medical Services and a Jefferson Police Officer with a male patient in a parked vehicle at the intersection of 235th Street and Quaker Avenue that was experiencing a diabetic seizure.
A deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Highway 30. A 2005 Chevrolet that was being driven by Yuliya Lazarenko 20, of Knoxville, Iowa, was eastbound on 220th Street, when the deer ran onto the roadway and was struck by the Lazarenko vehicle. Yuliya Lazarenko was not injured, but her vehicle sustained an estimated $3500 in damages.
A deputy was dispatched to 177th Street and D Avenue to remove a dead deer from the roadway.
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of a female in the 500 block of South 13th Street in Grand Junction. The female was found to be safe and well.
A deputy checked a reported intoxicated driver near the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction. The deputy found the vehicle parked in the 800 block of Percival Street, but did not find the driver.
Saturday, August 2nd
A deputy was asked by a juvenile that was in Rippey for a ride back to Grand Junction. The deputy transported the male to his grandmother’s residence.
A deputy was advised of a careless and erratic driver near Railroad Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy retrieved a cell phone that was left on a picnic table at the Grand Junction City Park shelter house.
A deputy spoke with a Churdan resident in the 300 block of Hill Street about urinating outside at his residence.
A deputy, a Jefferson Police Officer, the Jefferson Fire Department and the Greene County Emergency Medical Services all responded to a two vehicle accident on Highway 30 at S Avenue. An eastbound 1999 International Flatbed tank truck being driven by Joe Matthew Davis 21, of Perry was slowing to attempt a turn onto S Avenue when he was struck from behind by a 2008 GMC pickup being driven by Tyler Scott Alexander 19, of Redfield, Iowa. Both the Flatbed truck and the pickup are owned by the Accujet LLC of Perry, Iowa. Both drivers were transported to the Greene County Medical Center for CDL requirements and later released. Tyler Alexander was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control and other citations are pending a further investigation. The GMC pickup was estimated to be a total loss and the 1999 International truck sustained an estimated $150,000 in damages.
A deputy investigated a trespassing complaint in the 100 block of North Paton Street in Paton.
A deputy helped resolve a verbal altercation at a residence in the 500 block of South 11th Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy was not able to locate a suspected intoxicated driver reported to be on Highway 144 near 190th Street.
