New Opportunities Guthrie County Family Development Center wants you to know that the Back-to-School supply drive is still going on and every donation is needed.
According to Family Development Center Coordinator, Tiffany Steensen ‘as much back to school supplies that can be collected is needed to help area low-income families with the expense that comes when school starts.’
You can donate at the following locations until Friday August 8th which is when Steensen will pick up the donation boxes: Hometown Foods in Guthrie Center, Dowd Drug in Guthrie Center, and Ben Franklin in Panora. All supplies will go to benefit Guthrie County children in grades k-8th.
Also, Steensen points out there is a monetary donation jar located at Sparky’s One Stop in Guthrie Center which will be used to purchase supplies needed that are not donated.
They are currently looking for mentors for the mentoring program which would help young people 5 to 17 years of age. For more information about New Opportunities Guthrie County Family Development Center give them a call at 641-747-3845.
