None of our local weather reporting areas were able to register normal monthly rainfall amounts this July.
According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center received no precipitation this week, ending the month with 3.33 inches of rain total.
Jefferson received 0.11 inch for a total of 4.28 inches in July. And 0.36 inch of rain was registered in Perry this week for a total of 3.33 inches this month.
Normal monthly rainfall is 4.42 inches for Perry, 4.61 inches for Jefferson and 4.86 inches for Guthrie Center.
Fortunately the entire state of Iowa remains drought free, with the exception for the southwest corner where the soil is abnormally dry.
