It’s only the first day of August, but thoughts of Fall 2014 sports have long been on the minds of coaches and athletes. At Greene County High School for example, Coach Kelly Simpson reports voluntary cross-country workouts have been taking place this week. Greene County volleyball players under the direction of head coach Donna Carhill have been busy this week with the Iowa State University camp in Ames, and they make the trek to Pella for the Central College camp this weekend. Greene County football players in grades 3-12 will have three days of camp at the high school in Jefferson Aug. 4-5-6. Head Coach Dean Lansman is heading up the camps.

The first official day of high school fall sports practices around the state is just 10 days away on Monday, August 11.
