The final home game of the 2014 Greene County High School baseball season is tonight as the Rams host Nevada at Allensworth Field. This is make up action originally scheduled for June 30, but postponed due to rain. Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams are 7-9 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and 10-14 overall. The Rams have won five of their last seven games. Nevada is 8-17 on the season and 5-12 in the league. The Cubs won the first meeting 6-5 when they scored three times in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Tonight’s game can be heard on KG98 with coverage starting at 7:15 p.m. and the first pitch scheduled for about 7:30 p.m. This will be the final home game for seniors Zach Fouch and Wes Tipton.
Greene County faces Harlan Community in Harlan on Friday night in first round Class 3A District 15 play. The Cyclones are ranked number six in 3A.
