Four members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office including the K-9 unit, a Boone County Deputy, the Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and four Iowa State Patrol troopers which included the State Patrol plane all responded to the 1000 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction for a reported 24 year old male that was distraught and attempting to harm himself with a knife. Family members at the residence stated that a 24 year old male walked away from the residence bleeding after cutting himself several times. The K-9 unit and several responders followed a blood trail for several blocks and eventually found the knife in question but did not locate the male subject. A door to door search and an air search of the nearby corn fields ensued, but were unsuccessful for the first two hours. It was then reported that the subject was spotted in Rippey. Most units involved in the search ascended on Rippey and subsequently found the distraught male. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Greene County Medical Center for evaluation and medical attention for several small cuts upon his hand and arm.
A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of 310th Street to investigate the theft of personal property.
Two deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of 170th Street for a reported burglary and theft of household fixtures and a cast iron wood burning stove.
A deputy investigated the reported theft of a 4-wheel ATV from a rural residence in the 1200 block of 130th Street.
A deputy spoke with a resident in the 200 block of Anyer Street in Dana about a littering concern.
A deputy spoke with a resident in the 1100 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton about the five foot no parking ordinance involving a neighbor’s driveway.
A deputy, the sheriff and a Farnhamville Police Officer all responded to a rural residence in the 700 block of Q Avenue for the report of an unknown person walking around the property and may have entered the house. The house and all of the out buildings were searched and everything was found to be secure.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
