Perry High SchoolThe Perry School Board will meet in regular session tonight.

As usual, the meeting will begin with reports from various people including students and staff involved with the Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates or iJAG program, an update om the elementary parking and transportation project, another update on summer school an tutoring, along with an update on the Iowa Assessment.

The board will then review plans for a board retreat and goal setting session on August 8th, approve changes to the elementary, nutrition and transportation handbooks and approve bread and milk vendors for the upcoming school year.

Board secretary Kent Bultman is then expected to be reappointed to his position for 2014-2015, along with Dwayne Hochhalter as the board treasurer and Drew Bracken from Ahlers and Cooney Law Firm as the district’s legal counsel.

Other appointments up for approval include Raccoon Valley Bank as the district’s depository, Anne Horgen. Gary Czerniakowski and Eric Vaughn as student abuse investigators, Angelia Cardenas-Diaz as the district’s equity, equal opportunity and affirmative action officer and homeless coordinator and Kevin Vidergar and Kelly Schloss as Americans with Disabilities Act coordinators.

Next the board will discuss the possibility of building a tornado safe room, talk about next steps for the ongoing high school gym roof condensation issue, approve personnel changes, legislative priorities and board policy revisions.

The meeting takes place in the Brady Library at Perry High School at 6:30pm.
