Felony charges have been filed against an Indiana man accused of stabbing another man at the Dallas County Fairgrounds earlier this week.
On the eve of the fair’s official start, the Dallas County Sheriff’s office reports that 43 year-old Paul Joesph Boruch of South Bend, Indiana stabbed 43 year-old Richard Daniel Edmunds of West Branch, Iowa twice in the back.
Both men were taken to Mercy Hospital early Tuesday to be treated for injuries that were not believed to be life threatening. Boruch has since been booked into the Dallas County jail and is facing charges of Going Armed with Intent and Willful Injury.
He’s currently being held on a $10,000 cash only bond.
Authorities say the incident was an isolated one between two carnival employees and alcohol may have been a factor in the fight. The fair board says those involved have been removed from the fair and they don’t anticipate future issues.
