The inaugural BACooN Ride is just days away. An estimated 3,000 people are expected to make their way through Perry Saturday for the new ride put on by RAGBRAI, The Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival and The Iowa Bicycle Coalition.
In addition to various bacon treats available to enjoy, Bob Wilson with the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce says there will also be live entertainment. Several bands will be playing at the triangle area near the Crooked Rail and the Kickstand.
But it’s the lasting impact that Wilson says makes putting events like this worthwhile. He encourages residents to lend a helping hand, give directions, tell people where to stop and eat and invite them to stop back again.
Riders are expected to make their way through Perry between 1 and 5:00 Saturday afternoon.
