The struggles for the ADM baseball team continued in Adel last night, as the Tigers lost for the fourth time in their past seven ballgames.
Carroll got the best of ADM 8-3, and Jason Book’s club is now just 5-4 in Raccoon River Conference play this season. The Tigers are now a game and a half back from the top of the conference standings heading into Wednesday’s matchup with Boone.
Ethan Herron went the distance for ADM in defeat last night. The junior rightly allowed eight runs, six of which were earned, on seven hits while striking out five. Herron is now 2-3 in his five starts this season.
The Tigers had problems getting their bats going again last night, as they were only able to manage six hits against Carroll’s Mason Millard. Kody Irwin, making his first varsity start of the season, was the lone Tiger to come up with multiple hits in the loss–he went 2-3 at the plate.
ADM has tonight off before welcoming Boone to town tomorrow. The Toreadors romped the Tigers 10-0 back on June 4th in game one of the season series.
