Everyone is invited to stop out to the Perry Marketplace this Thursday for the official kick of this year’s local farmers market season.
Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bob Wilson says there has been sneak peeks the past couple weeks, but this is the full, real deal.
“If you’ve driven by (Caboose Park) and seen a few people in the parking lot, that’s not where the farmers market is going to be, but we had early crop. We had some plants, tomato plants, pepper plants, etc and then some asparagus and the growers want to get rid of them and we wanted to give them the option” says Wilson.
In addition to the fresh fruits, vegetables and baked goods there will also be some non-edible options available at the market as well such as rain barrels, wood crafts, clothing and everything in between.
The markets take place from 4-6pm Thursday through September.
