Guthrie County has been declared a primary disaster county due to the tornadoes and high winds that struck the area during the Mother’s Day Storm on May 11th.
According to a release from Guthrie County’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), this designation states that producers with farm operations in any primary or contiguous counties are eligible to apply for low interest emergency loans.
Producers have eight months from the date of the declaration to apply for emergency loan assistance, and FSA says it will consider each loan application by taking into account the extent of losses, security available and repayment ability. Those eligible to apply for a loan can ask for a maximum amount of $500,000 in assistance.
Any Guthrie County farm producers with questions about these emergency loans now available can contact Guthrie County FSA Executive Director Brandon Jazz at 641-332-2640.
