Dallas County and the City of Adel are considering an agreement that would determine the location of future County offices.
Last night the Adel City Council met in special session to discuss the revised proposed 28E agreement. Its purpose is to develop a process where the City and County jointly choose an agreeable site for the County’s public administrative building and acquire the necessary land near the downtown Adel business district.
The agreement includes at $500,000 contribution from the City of Adel to be used towards acquisition and preparation of the site, along with educating the public on the needs and desirability of building the new facility.
It also states that the city will cooperate with Dallas County in bringing the infrastructure and utilities to the public safety site and enter into a separate agreement for the operation of the Ortonville Wastewater Treatment Facility without cost to the County.
The matter will be discussed at today’s Supervisors meeting at 9am in Adel.
