A search warrant on Sunday leads to an arrest of a Perry suspect for several robberies.
Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert says at 2:15pm, the Greene County Sheriff’s office with the help of the Dallas and Boone County Sheriff’s offices and the Perry Police Department executed a search warrant at 2811 West 5th Street in Perry and arrested Brian Keith Dunlap on several felony charges.
Sheriff Haupert states that the 39 year-old suspect is wanted in connection with at least five reported thefts from all around the county that started at the beginning of the year. Recovered items at Dunlap’s property included hand tools, copper wiring and boat engines.
Haupert talks about their investigation.
“We did find articles that were taken from Greene County and possibly from contiguous counties. So everything’s at this point is still under investigation but we do think we have cleared four or five burglaries and thefts from Greene County with more pending.”
The charges that Dunlap faces from Greene County are Class D Felonies for two counts of second degree criminal mischief and two counts of third degree burglary and a Class B Felony for ongoing criminal conduct.
Haupert notes that more charges are pending at this time and will have charges from both Dallas and Boone counties as well and they are looking into other suspects.
Dunlap is currently held in the Greene County Jail without bond.
