StuartThe Stuart City Council convenes tonight for its May session.

Many items will be discussed in tonight’s meeting, but it begins with a presentation and public hearing from the Region XII Council of Governments pertaining to Stuart’s Housing Rehabilitation Project.

During the meeting, City Council will also look at two pay estimates for projects ongoing in town.  The first is one for almost $80,000 to be paid to Roy Sargent for work done on the Rock Island Depot.  The second is for almost $35,000 to be paid to Priority Excavating for work done on the Wambold Project.  This payment to Priority Excavating was postponed by the Council last month.

The Council will then hear a couple of presentations from different city departments.  Mike Renslow will give an update on the Stuart Fire Department, while Stuart Rescue will be in attendance to discuss their open director position.

The last item on the City Council agenda is a discussion relating to the demolition of the town’s old bus barn.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30pm in City Hall.
