stuart2Stuart’s popular Good Egg Days celebration is about a month away now, but a definitive theme for this year’s event has not yet been officially chosen.

That will change tomorrow though, when members of the Stuart Chamber of Commerce meet with the Good Egg Days Committee to make a selection. Event coordinator Shannon Behnken gives us her opinion as to which theme she believes is best.

“I personally like ‘Restoring the Good Old Days’ and the reason I say that is (because) we have a lot of restoring going on here in Stuart.  We have the depot that they’re restoring as well as Hotel Stuart.  Not to mention, last year we brought back ‘Scoop the Loop’, which is kinda going back to the old days of restoring care… So that’s where I would lean then, ‘Restoring the Good Old Days’.”

Behnken says the majority of Chamber members who have provided input are onboard with the ‘Restoring the Good Old Days’ theme, though she’s willing to consider a couple more.

“I’m definitely open to other ideas.  Some people are just kind of mixed with the word ‘restoring’, so it was brought up maybe instead of ‘restoring’ we could just say ‘Bringing Back the Good Old Days’.  Another one that has also been mentioned is ‘Restoring the Beauty of Yesteryear’.”

Behnken says she’s okay with whichever theme ends up being selected because in the end, it’s all about putting on a great actual event come June 13th.

The Good Egg Days Committee will hold an official vote on this year’s event theme during their meeting tomorrow, which is being held at AmericInn at noon.
