unnamed-2Debris everywhere, roofs off of houses, trees sliced in two, boating slips bent and flipped… that’s the scene out at Lake Panorama today after last night’s severe storm wrought havoc in various places throughout Guthrie County.

The bigger storyline, however, continues to be the fact there are still no injuries reported at this time.  Adair & Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf, Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright and Lake Panorama Association General Manager John Rutledge all confirmed no injuries to Raccoon Valley Radio as of about 10am this morning.

While the most significant damage from last night’s storm was sustained at the Boulder Cove Colony condominiums near Lake Panorama’s Boulder Beach, Kempf says significant damage has been spotted from about three miles south of Guthrie Center up to Yale.

Damage assessment crews are patrolling through Guthrie County all day today to look into how badly different areas of the county were impacted by the storm.  The National Weather Service is currently sweeping the county with a survey team as well to determine whether or not the severe damage was definitively caused by a tornado.

Kempf says he doesn’t expect the tornado survey to be complete until the early evening hours at the earliest.

Raccoon Valley Radio will continue to bring you storm damage updates as they become official.
