In need of school supplies and toys for next school year, Little Panther Daycare and Preschool in Panora is getting some help from a couple of different sources in their community.
For one, Panorama students are currently dropping off their used toys and school supplies in boxes around the school as the academic year winds down to help assist the local daycare center. It’s a simple gesture, but also one that excites Little Panther Daycare Director Shellie Stogdill.
“Yeah that’s awesome, we need those (supplies). Like I’ve said, we’re a non-profit organization so any help we can get is awesome.”
Stogdill’s organization will also be receiving help from the Guthrie County Community Foundation for a second consecutive year, as they’ve received a grant for more than $3,100.
Stogdill explains what this grant amount will do for the daycare.
“We’ve always had a preschool here for the kids that were (already) enrolled, but we are opening it up to the public. So we just are going to purchase preschool supplies with (the grant) for our new classroom.”
Even with this recent grant in tow and help on its way from Panorama High School, Stogdill says Little Panther Daycare welcomes any gift or school supply donations as they prepare for the summer and next school year.
