ADMADM’s boys and girls golf squads both hit the links yesterday, and it was the girls team’s performance that stood out for head coach Cris Goodale.

The Tiger girls won the Woodward-Granger Invite with a score of 197, defeating second place Ballard by 18 strokes.

Three ADM golfers finished in the top five of the tournament, with Taylor Boorn placing runner-up with a 46.  Hayley Willems came in third with a 49, while Lexi Owen finished fourth shooting a 50.  Coach Goodale says the consistency of the girls at the top of his lineup continues to be the team’s biggest strength.

A couple other area schools competed at Woodward-Granger, as the Guthrie Center girls finished tied for third, shooting 217. Panorama came in fifth out of eight teams with a score of 225.

Moving on to the ADM boys, they dropped their head-to-head dual meet against Boone in an awfully tough fashion.  The Tigers and Toreadors tied with their first four golfers, as both team’s shot 168.  The two squads’ fifth scores were also tied, but Boone won the meet with a better score from its number six golfer.

For head coach Cris Goodale’s team, the silver lining in the loss was the fact Brody Boston picked up another individual victory, as he shot one-over par 37 to finish as medalist.

The ADM boys have another competition tonight, as the Tigers play in an 18-hole tournament at Winterset.
