It has been a wealth of young talent propelling Perry into first place of the Raccoon River Conference as the Bluejays hit the midway point of the season. Perry is currently sitting 4-0 in conference play and won’t return to action until May 6th when they travel to Huxley to battle Ballard. ” Our difference maker this year has simply been our depth and the scary thing is we haven’t been all that healthy this year. We are starting to heal now which will add only more depth to our talented roster,” commented Perry Head Coach Gary Overla. Overla praised Freshman Alvaro Soto and underclassmen Jesus Rodriguez, Ian Velasco, Ivan Garcia and David Cardenas. Velasco was a first team All Conference player last year as a freshman.
