The Panora Chamber of Commerce hosted its inaugural Panorama Days Community Breakfast Fundraiser this past weekend to raise money for the town’s popular celebration later this year.
With it being the first attempt at raising funds specifically for Panorama Days, Executive Director Chaille Crandall gives us a recap of the breakfast.
“We had a good turnout. I think we did lose some people to Drake Relays, which you know, you’re not always going to have an open weekend where everybody can make it… But we had a good turnout, we actually had a lot of people show up that some of the Chamber members didn’t even know. So, we met some new people in the community and overall we were very pleased.”
Crandall says the breakfast raised $600 on Saturday, which she says is almost enough money to cover the costs of the Panorama Days’ tractor pulls and the Kid Zone.
Looking ahead to future years of the breakfast fundraiser, Crandall says she expects it to be much improved.
“You know, the first time you do things you never know how it is going to turn out, and then when people become aware that it’s an annual thing, which is our plan, it always gets better.”
Crandall says the Panora Chamber will make one more attempt to raise some additional funds for Panorama Days, and that would be by setting up a couple of stands at the BaCOON Ride that will pass through town at the end of June.
